October
Happenings:
Sunday, October 5,
Rev Jane will offer a sermon on Atonement.
We'll
take a look at the concept of atonement, what it
has meant, and what meaning it can have for us
as Unitarian Universalists.
Also on the 5th
the
Universalist Heritage Foundation invites you to
a Service of Re-Dedication of the Universalist
Memorial Church in Winchester, New Hampshire
. Site of the
historic 1803 Winchester Profession of Belief at
3:00pm the Rev. Dr. William Sinkford, President
Unitarian
Universalist Association will offer a sermon.
Music is by a joint choir of area churches. This
historic building has recently been returned
to our liberal
religious community and will be used as a center
for celebrating the Universalist faith. The
following Sunday, October 12, the sermon topic
is "Vote!". Rev. Jane will preach on
how democracy requires participation. Sunday,
October 19th come to church dressed in your work
clothes. We'll explore the concept of work as a
worship, and then we'll have the experiential component,
as we all pitch in as a community to make our
beautiful building as energy -efficient as
possible before the heating season begins. There
will be a communal meal following the clean-up.
October 26th the service theme will be
"Harvest". Don't forget the Keene
Pumpkin Fest on Saturday, October 25. Come to
Foundry Street to park for the festival and help
support KUUC with our parking rentals and food
and craft table! See the
Calendar for more information and other church-related events.
